Michael Griffin

Council At-Large

Michael Griffin is a lifelong resident of Jersey City with deep generational ties to the community. As a housing advocate, he has fought for and successfully delivered majority-affordable housing projects in his neighborhood. As a community activist, he has worked to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents while standing up to powerful machine and developer interests. Now, he is running for City Council at-Large to securestable property taxes, increase affordable housing, and ensure fully funded public services for Jersey City’s working families.

Mamta Singh

Council At-Large

amta Singh is a mom, a nonprofit leader and advocate for the empowerment of young girls and women. Nearly two decades ago, she immigrated to the United States to raise her family, and would be the first Indian-American elected to the Jersey City Council. As the founder and Executive Director of JCFamilies, she has worked tirelessly to connect women and children to local resources and opportunities for family and youth development. Now, she is running for City Council at-Large to deliver stable property taxes, more youth recreation, and stronger city services for Jersey City’s working families.

Rolando Lavarro

Council At-Large

Rolando Lavarro is a husband, dad, lifelong Jersey City resident, and proven public servant who made history as the City’s first Asian and Filipino American councilman. While on city council, he fought for affordable housing, stood up to powerful political interests, championed worker protections, and advocated tirelessly for underrepresented communities. He is committed to accountable city government that delivers affordable housing, stable property taxes and rents, and a better quality of life for Jersey City’s working families.
