Meet the Candidates

Frank “Educational” Gilmore’s life is a story of remarkable transformation—from a troubled youth who lost both parents before age 14 and served time in a correctional facility, to a passionate community leader and college graduate who earned degrees from Hudson County Community College and Rutgers University. He founded a mentoring and youth development foundation and has dedicated his career to uplifting underserved communities through education, literacy, and recreation. Now running for re-election to the City Council, Frank is focused on expanding affordable housing, creating youth recreation and job training opportunities, and enhancing public safety for Ward F.

As your councilmember, Frank is fighting for:

Increasing affordable housing and homeownership pathways to help residents build equity and stability.

Expanding youth recreation and job readiness programs to help residents of all ages grow, succeed, and access economic opportunities.

Enhancing public safety through well-maintained streets, reliable infrastructure, and stronger community-police trust.

Advocating for property tax relief through fair and equitable assessments for Ward F homeowners.

Transparencyworking on behalf of the people, with the people, throughout the whole process

Accessibility –  Councilman Gilmore has been the most accessible elected official within the last 4 years and continues to make himself available to all Ward F residents.  He has consistently held quarterly meetings, community caucuses every other Saturday, and office hours every Thursday to address constituents’ concerns.
